Temporary scuba diving permits for scuba diving operators

Scuba diving operators were granted business exemptions with a condition that stated:
(f) “Note that this exemption is valid for all paying customers until the 30th June 2007 or until an operator issued temporary permit is available (whichever occurs first).”

Temporary operator issued permits are now available from MCM offices, as requested by the diving fraternity. With the temporary permit system, operators will now be able to issue out permits to customers who are not in possession of scuba diving permits, and thus not have to turn away clients without a permit. These permits are valid for a month and at a fee of R45 to clients. Scuba diving operators are requested to purchase temporary permits booklets from MCM offices before the exemption condition (f) above covering their clients expires at the end of June 2007. (The operator exemption otherwise remains valid).
