It is possible to apply to the Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism for an exemption from certain requirements of the regulations.

These are the requirements: to undertake an environmental assessment in terms of section 8 of the regulations; to obtain a permit under section 6 of the regulations; or
a obtain a licence under section 7 of the regulations.
